Zinacutin contains 20mg of zinc derived from approximately 200mg of zinc sulphate. Each tablet is sufficient to provide the complete supplement for a 20kg dog.
Zinc is important in metabolically active tissues such as the intestine, immune system and the skin. It is a component of more than 300 enzyme systems including many of those responsible for normal cell growth. Despite the consumption of a diet balanced for zinc there are situations where additional supplementation is required.
Northern breeds such as the Husky, Malamute and Samoyed may benefit from additional supplementation. Rapidly growing dogs may also on occasions require extra zinc.
Dogs with poor liver or gastro-intestinal function often benefit from zinc.
The incorporation of zinc into a palatable base decreases the risk of gastro-intestinal upsets which can be seen with other highly concentrated supplements.
